The artist isn't listed, but I found this interesting due to the fact that it takes an ordinary space/ object in society and changes the perspective in a second. Take a look.

Caleb Charland
Looking at Caleb Charland's photography I thought they might be manipulated in photoshop, but apparently they are not. Caleb captures motion in time so beautifully.

Engineering and Art at its greatest.
Theo Jansen a Dutch artist constructs these so called animals, which are self aware of its surroundings. The engineering and creativity of these creatures is impressive. I really like the mechanics of the axle of the animals. Take a look! http://www.dyrmdaily.com/597/beach-monsters-by-theo-jansen/

The Avengers!
I first learned about Comic Con from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on the Conan O’Brien show, good stuff, you should youtube it, maybe.. unless you’re easily offended, in which case, don’t. Anyhow, I have since learned a little more about the event, Comic Con International is a yearly comic book convention held in San Diego. The convention includes comic books, drawings, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, science fiction, movies, television, pop culture elements like anime, animation, toys, games, etc. It sounds like a lot of fun! It just happens that the convention was held this past weekend and I couldn’t help but Google what new things it had to offer. (Yeah, that’s the truth.)
There’s a lot of cool new stuff presented but what stuck out for me was The Avengers promotional art coming out. Next year the new Thor movie and the new Captain America movie are coming out and I’m kind of excited about them. (Yeah, that’s the truth.) This year at Comic Con they debuted some of the promo art for the movies and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. To quote the writer of the article, they are “they drenched in bad-assery.”
So if I haven’t scared you away, here is the link to the Captain America promo:

And here is the one to Thor promo:

The actual “The Avengers” movie won’t come out until 2012 so I bet next year’s Comic Con will have some great stuff for it!

Off to KC
I really enjoyed all that Kansas City had to offer. I had never been to the Kemper Museum before, I had previously heard really great things about it and after seeing it in person and viewing the different galleries I was very impressed with such a wide range of differing styles of 2D and 3D art. My favorite part of the trip was probably traveling downtown to the individual galleries, where I stopped at Monika's Gallery, in which her layering of color and movement was very beautiful. Then we moved down a few blocks to the Blue Gallery, where it featured several female artists all of which promoting their femininity. We ended the trip with a great dinner at Olive Garden, talking about what all we saw! All in all it was a great experience and I plan to go up again soon.

A whole new way to finger paint
Italian artist Guido Daniele has found a unique way to display his painting talent: by using other people's hands as living canvases. He transforms hands into an entire zoo of animals and objects, from flamingos to trees and corals. His attention to detail is incredible; particularly his treatment of texture. From feathers to scales to fur, his animal hands border on the photorealistic.
His website is www.guidodaniele.com, where you can the hand art and his other work, including a 1986 exhibition of airbrushed texture paintings. These show he's been developing and refining his treatment of texture for many years.

3D graffiti
These videos have great presence. One of the comments on the first one said that there's a nice "hush" in them.
The animator makes graffiti 3D and suspends it urban environments. Then...they use a handheld camera to walk around, getting closer to the form. All very Sector 9. Make sure you watch some of the other ones too.
